Welcome!

Welcome to Lord of the Bricks Robotics!

Robotics
Lord of the Bricks is a group of robotics teams based in the Richmond, Virginia area supported by Homeschool Resources Group, a non-profit organization.  We are primarily homeschoolers, though we do have a few public and private schoolers in the ranks.

Our teams participate in the Robotics family of competitions.  The mission of FIRST is to inspire young people to be science and technology leaders, by engaging them in exciting mentor-based programs that build science, engineering and technology skills, that inspire innovation, and that foster well-rounded life capabilities including self-confidence, communication, and leadership.  You can learn more about the FIRST family of competitions by visiting:

Our Teams
Our kids participate in the FIRST Robotics competition at various levels:

Our newest team; our 6-9-yr-olds get their first taste of robotics by designing and constructing a model using Lego bricks and moving parts, and showcasing their journey by creating a Show Me poster of their work and their team.

FLL  Our 9-14-year-old team tackles science, engineering, technology, and medical task head-on by pinpointing a specific real-world problem, researching that problem in depth, and finding a solution to that problem.  They also use a Lego Mindstorm kit to build a robot that can autonomously complete tasks.

Take a look at the 2015 Trash Trek Challenge solution page!

FTC  Our highschoolers plunge head-on into science and engineering by designing, building, and programming a robot to compete in as alliances against other teams in a sports model-styled competition.
